Say Hello to Holly
Holly is a 9 week old yellow Labrador, who was rescued by Labrador UK Action Group (LUKAG) on Sunday 20 December 2020. She had a brilliant, fun Christmas with her wonderful LUKAG foster family and we became her adoptive family today.
Holly is a very special puppy; she has no vision in her left eye and at eight weeks was diagnosed by Debenham Vets as having a neurological condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia which means that Holly’s ability to walk will be limited and she has a very distinctive wobbly head.
Holly slept most of the way home and had a short play in her new home. She got quite tired quite quickly again so I introduced her to her new crate and bedding and she fell asleep very quickly with a familiar toy with her.
Whilst she has been asleep Tilly the Cat cautiously had a look at her and vanished upstairs, it will be interesting to see how they both respond to each other.
When Holly wakes up, she’ll have her first exploration of her new back garden and have her first meal in her new home.
So pleased to have Holly as part of the family and can’t wait to share all of her adventures.
Holly absolutely loves dog shows and this year we have attended quite a few. Holly is such a friendly dog she has equal affection for both dogs and hoomans. She loves her cuddles and fuss from hoomans and is more likely to want to get close and lick a doggie than...
In February 2022, Holly was seen by the Ophthalmologist again for a checkup. There was no change in the left eye, although we discussed that Holly’s retina could be partially or fully detached. However, Holly’s right eye had now developed a Cataract. It was small and...
Holly was seven and a half months old when she had her first season in June 2021. She was ok with it but was more sleepy than usual. She then had her second season only four months later on 19th October 2021, 5 days before her first birthday. We contacted our vets at...
Holly loves her walkies, but what Holly loves more is meeting other dogs and people. When walking Holly we meet with some great people, some have seen Holly from the early days of her taking little walks and love seeing her progress – Holly has been applauded as she...
Apologies for not writing a blog post for sometime.. I didn't realise how long it had been. So, what can I say about Holly, to sum up, the last few months....... well, she is a complete joy to have around! She is nearly 9 months old now, with the teenage mayhem to go...
Holly was very excited on 1st April 2021, after a few days of meeting new people, we introduced her to Caroline Bennett who runs Look Forward Dog Training and Behaviour. Caroline got in touch in February and offered Holly a free session, we arranged for a one-to-one...
